This book contains lots of pieces starting with very simple tunes with one-note melodies for the absolute beginner. As you progress through the book you'll be introduced to two note melodies and arpeggios (they're chords that are broken into the individual notes and are great for developing your picking hand).
Some of the traditional tunes may be very familiar whilst others have been composed by many of the great guitarists of the classical age. You may not have heard of Giuliani, Carcassi, Sor or Carulli but these composers were responsible in the 18th and 19th centuries for making the guitar the popular instrument it is today.
There are two sections to this book. The first contains the music notation with simple tablature underneath which is especially useful for those who are new to reading music. The second section has just standard notation for those who can read music and prefer not to be distracted by tablature.
With standard notation, tablature and full fretting hand finger placement to guide you, this book should help you progress from complete beginner to the second level.
If you choose to buy this book you'll receive a printable PDF so you can print out the tunes you wish to play or use a PC or tablet to view the pages. The download package also contains MP3s of all the music played at a gentle pace so that you can hear the rhythm as well as see it.
