What Lessons include
Lessons cost £60 for a full hour of teaching - there's always a little more time added for taking off coats, tuning up the guitar and getting ready.
If you're keen to learn more quickly and have enough spare time to practise for a few hours over the course of seven days then weekly lessons are the way to go.
However, the majority of students prefer fortnightly lessons. This helps spread the cost and gives you more opportunities to go through the pieces and exercises that we cover in the lessons.
All printed material (music in tab and notation form, exercises, music theory) is included in the price so you won't need to buy any additional books unless you want to.
There's a £30 discount if you book three lessons in advance (£150) payable by BACS transfer. And gift tokens are available if you'd like to give a unique present to a loved one.
Currently, there are various available spaces Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm, and Monday evening til 7.00pm.
Teaching is done at my home studio in the Winterbourne area of Lewes. This has close proximity to the A27. Free parking is available on the drive, or metered on-street parking in Winterbourne Lane nearby currently charged at 75p per hour.(as of July 2026).
The Regency bus services No 28 (Eastboune/Hailsham/ Ringmer/Lewes/Brighton), No 29 bus (Tunbridge Wells/Crowborough/ Uckfield/ Lewes/Brighton) and No 29A bus (Heathfield/Uckfield/Lewes/Brighton) stop about 5 minutes away. Please note that it's uphill on the way back!
Lewes Train station is just under a mile away.
If you're still not sure whether to have lessons why not come along for a free, no obligation chat. We can discuss where you're at in your classical guitar journey, have a short sample lesson, look at some of the materials provided, and see how I can help you.
Learning to play guitar with a teacher is a big investment in time and money so you want to be sure that it's right for you. Send me your phone number via the Contact page and we'll make an appointment for a free consultation.

Cancellation Policy
It always seems a bit mean to charge someone for a lesson they haven't had. But a lot of preparation goes towards each lesson and a late cancellation, or worse - a no-show, means I cannot easily fill the reserved booking with another student or make alternative plans.
Therefore I now charge a reduced fee for a cancellation with notification under 24 hours of £30. I know that life sometimes gets in the way so we'll split the difference.
For those who don't let me know in advance the full fee of £60 is charged.
There is no charge for cancellations with over 24 hours notice.
How to pay
Cash is always lovely but, if like me, you struggle to get to an ATM then I'm happy to accept a BACS transfer or possibly Paypal.
Block bookings need to be paid for in advance, please.
