An écossaise is a late 18th century French country dance written in 2/4 time in which couples form lines facing each other. If you've ever watched a period drama TV series such as Jane Austen, or Poldark, Bridgerton etc then you may well have seen this dance performed. All these pieces are in A Major or A minor and are suitable for students of grades three to five.
